The Anchor Caravan Park, CastleGregory, nr. Tralee, Co. Kerry, Ireland
The Park
We are particularly proud of our park. Over the last twenty or so years we have followed a policy of constant improvement year by year. We hope and believe that there is everything that the discerning camper or caravanner could want to make their holiday with us as pleasant as possible.
The Central Amenity Block
The Central Amenity Block has men's and women's toilets and men's and women's showers (requiring ½ euro coins). There is also a television room, a games room and a space for rinsing wet suits. There is a further area for drying washing.
This facility is thoroughly cleaned and serviced every day.
The Children's Play Area
The Children's Play Area contains a variety of safe pieces of equipment for children to play on and a sandpit.
The Camper's Kitchen Area
In this building there is a kitchen with a table and chairs, a fridge and a freezer. There are also two washing machines and two tumble driers which work on coin-fed timers. These are mainly for the use of campers but can be used by all.
In the same building is a telephone room with a coin-fed telephone and telephone directories.
Two noticeboards give details of local attractions and places to visit locally.
The Reception Office
Open most of the day, the Reception office gives access to the owners of the Park, who are mostly available to help. A comprehensive selection of leaflets gives information about local attractions and places of interest.
The Touring Fields
There are two touring fields which each have direct access to water, electricity, drainage, toilet emptying facilities and dustbins which are regularly emptied.
Sinks are provided for washing up and rinsing.
Motorcaravanners can fill and empty their water and waste in special facilities.
Each field has very special views across fields towards the sea and to distant mountains.
The Static Field
We have a number of static caravans in a further field, some of which are privately owned.
Others belong to the campsite and are available for hire.
Please contact us for further details
A gate from this field gives direct private access to the adjacent beach which is no more than four minutes stroll from the Central Amenity Block.
The Beach
The beach runs from Blennerville, in the outskirts of Tralee, to Cloghane.
This is about 13 miles and makes this one of the longest beaches in Ireland, a country which is famous for its beaches.
The stretch of beach which lies beside the Park, Aughacasla Strand, has golden sand as far as the eye can see in either direction.
Despite its attractions, the beach is rarely crowded and in May and September, when the weather is very often kind, you could be the only people on it.
Occasionally you may be joined by a farmer's cows taking a sunbathe and, if you are lucky, by a great horse cantering through the surf!
